The conference, which took place at the Golden Tulip Serenada Hotel – Hamra, was organized by the Rotary Club of Chouf, jointly with the Rotary Clubs of Aley, Hammana Upper Metn, and Zahle Bekaa, and gathered a large number of enthusiastic Rotarians.
President Zmokhol pointed out that “despite all its strengths, Lebanon exhibits structural weaknesses and is highly vulnerable to the unstable regional environment”. He reassured the audience that “the GDP growth should accelerate, though it remains contingent on the neighboring developments”. Dr. Zmokhol concluded that “tough structural challenges lie ahead of the Government, who faces tough public finances and external balance challenges… Yet, the best time to create and uncover hidden opportunities is within the crisis itself”.In his lecture, Dr. Zmokhol tackled the latest macroeconomic insights and strategic forecasts across economy sectors in the country. He also addressed the risks and opportunities related to topics such as growth, credit, debt, investment and inflation.
